There is quite a difference between being intelligent and being wise. Teachers can assist you in becoming book smart and instructors may gear you toward becoming more skillful, but wisdom cannot be taught. Earthly wisdom can certainly be gained through some experience, but experience alone does not produce wisdom. Not spiritual wisdom. According to God’s Word, faith produces this type of wisdom.
God says we must worship Him in spirit and in truth. That explains why logically some things God asks of us can often make no sense at all. Our physical brain and logical concepts are not meant to fully understand a spiritual God. Over time, I’ve learned that this journey is an inside job. Physically things may seem to be changing but what truly matters is what’s happening on the inside of us.
Believers, that are truly living by God’s Word, are full of wisdom. You can see it in the things they do. You can feel it in the words they say and you can witness it in the things they create. So it’s not hearsay but a known fact.
James 3:13-1813 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
